My role as an art teacher is grounded in four core beliefs. First and foremost, my lesson plans are centered around concrete and relatable concepts, problem solving, and promoting higher order thinking that leads to open and creative mindsets. Two, incorporating nature and technology to challenge the contrast of the two and the creative possibilities they hold for the future. Three, teaching with excitement and humor is the best way to get students actively involved in learning. And lastly, my constant use of a growth mindset inspires self-reflection, evaluation and improvement.
